When Andy Burnham comes to Colchester later this week, he’ll be proving once again that there can be no ‘no-go’ areas for Labour and that for us to win in 2020, we need to appeal beyond our core electoral base.

Here's a message from Andy to the 500+ Councillors who are supporting him to be the next Labour Leader:

Last week Andy Burnham published hismanifesto setting out a vision for a Labour Party that helps everyone get on in life.

Ballot papers have started landing on the doorsteps of Labour members across the country.

In the past few weeks Andy Burnham has spoken at packed members events right across the South of England - from Ashford to Aldershot, Basildon to Bedford, Bristol to Exeter, Plymouth to Camborne and back again.

In Gloucester we have no time to lose getting back to campaigning as we have all our City Council elections in May 2016. 

This week Andy Burnham launched his manifesto and proved that he has got the vision Labour needs to win again and make our country a better place.

To lead a major national political party and to aspire to hold a great Office of State, requires competence, vision and compassion.

Today, at a packed event in Leeds, Andy made a speech about the need to recapture the spirit of '45 and have big, bold ideas.
